Project Need: The District’s existing Hatch Reservoir has insufficient storage volume to support peak hour demands and fire flow while maintaining adequate system pressure.
Project Description: The District plans to construct a new 1 million gallon elevated storage tank east of Hatch Road and north of Bidwell Park.
Expected Outcomes: Improved water service reliability and fire flow in the service area generally located north of Midway on either side of Hatch Road.
Current Status: This project is in the design phase. The District has secured construction loan funding for construction in the 2027 – 2029 timeframe.
Anticipated Schedule: Design is ongoing, with anticipated design completion in late 2026. Construction is anticipated to last between 8 and 15 months. Construction start dates are not yet known.

Funding: Project design utilizes District funds. For construction, the District received notice of award for a $14.9 million Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan for the Hatch 2 Reservoir. This loan amount is anticipated to cover the project construction cost.
